Michael Morrison

Michael Morrison is a nationally recognized K–12 technology leader and Chief Technology Officer at Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), where he has spearheaded transformative initiatives in educational technology, digital safety, and professional learning systems. Named the 2023 Technology Administrator of the Year by ACSA Region 17 — representing all Orange County school districts — Michael brings deep expertise in technology integration, digital transparency, AI strategy, and district-wide systems planning to every engagement.

Michael is the creator of AI Trust You, a browser extension now adopted by more than 300 school districts and installed over 250,000 times, which promotes academic transparency by helping students document their AI use in assignments — shifting the conversation from enforcement to instruction in the era of generative AI. Under his leadership, LBUSD earned recognition as a Top 10 Digital District in the U.S. by the National School Boards Association and was recognized by the California State Superintendent of Public Instruction. A published author in Tech & Learning, Michael's work spans future-ready digital learning, responsible AI use, authentic research, and re-imagining professional growth through technology — consistently aligning innovation with instructional goals and student safety.

At School Leaders, Michael serves as Communications and Technology Lead for strategic consulting engagements, supporting districts with digital systems planning, communications infrastructure, AI integration, and professional development — helping teams design practical, forward-thinking solutions for safe and future-ready learning environments.
