Joe Dixon

Joe Dixon is a respected authority in public school facility management, known for his innovative leadership and dedication to enhancing educational infrastructure across California. With more than four decades of experience, Joe has transformed countless learning environments through strategic planning, robust funding acquisition, and successful construction management.

During his tenure as Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Governmental Relations at Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD), Joe directed monumental efforts to modernize and expand facilities, including securing $235 million in state funds and $100 million in local and federal funds to complement a $200 million General Obligation Bond. His leadership helped address overcrowding, modernize aging infrastructure, and develop specialized career and technical education spaces, including the $4.6 million Valley High School CTE project.

Joe’s professional influence extends well beyond district boundaries. He has held leadership roles in numerous statewide organizations, including serving as Immediate Past Chair of the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH) and Chair of Californians for School Facilities. As the Chair and Spokesperson of Californians for Quality Schools and a board member of Green Schools, Joe remains a vocal advocate for sustainable and quality educational environments.

A collaborative leader with a passion for community impact, Joe worked closely with the California Department of Education (CDE) on the Berry Creek school rebuilding initiative, coordinating efforts with local stakeholders to restore safe and modern facilities.
